Dark Sons Blog Project

You have been assigned either the character Sam, Ishmael, Sam’s father, or Ishmael’s father.  We are going to take bring ALL of these characters into the digital age.  As you already know Sam and his father are from our time; however, Ishmael and his father Abraham are from the biblical area.

Your scenario is as follows.  Sam and Ishmael both develop blogs to express their feelings of sadness, betrayal, anger, and sorrow towards their father. Both hope to get insight into why this is happening to them from others.  Accidentally their fathers stumble upon their son’s blog and decide to respond anonymously at first in hopes of trying to reconcile their relationship.

Each will respond to each others post.  Do NOT worry about grammar or sentence formation.  Remember!  You are writing as a blogger NOT and English student.  Just make sure that your partner will be able to read and understand what you are saying.  This is a school assignment so make sure your blogs are appropriate for school!  While it is probably true that in real life the characters may express their feelings in other ways, for this assignment you can not!

You and your partner will design the blog together regardless of which character you have been assigned.  Once your blog is set up,  you and your partner will blog back and forth for a month.    You must have a reponse from each character for at least 5 out of the 7 days of the week.  Each blog should be at least a couple of lines long.  Together you will have a total of 10 posts a week together and about 40 by the end of the month.  You must decide depending on your characters how the reveal will occur and what will happen by the end of the month.  Once the month is up you will print off your blog and read it as a script in dinner’s theater format.

All blogs must be posted by 4:00 p.m. Saturday of every week.  You will recieve up to 25 points a week for all four weeks for your blogs.

Your presentation will be worth a total of 50 points.  Making this assignment worth a total of 150 points.
